Symposium on Big Data Algorithms for Biology 2026
Indian Insitute of Science, Bengaluru
The fourth annual BDBio symposium will be held at the Indian Insitute of Science from June 04 to June 06, 2026. This event will feature cutting-edge research in the areas of bioinformatics, computational biology, and systems biology. The program will include invited research talks from leading scientists in academia and industry, early-career talks, poster session, and a pre-symposium workshop. The topics include novel computational, algorithmic, statistical, and deep learning methods in applications related to:
Molecular sequence analysis
RNA sequencing analysis, including single-cell
Comparative and population genomics
Cancer and infectious disease
Computational systems biology
Biological networks
Metagenomics
Computational proteomics, metabolomics and pharmacogenomics
Multi-omics data integration
Please note that registration is mandatory to participate in the event. See the registration page for details.

The symposium will include a poster session and talks from early career researchers (Ph.D. students/Postdocs). Exceptional Master's and UG students will also be selected. This is an excellent opportunity to get feedback from peers. Those who wish to present their work at the symposium should submit an abstract before the deadline. See the registration page for details.
Hands-on training on the topic Genomic large language models would be offered on the first day of the symposium, June 4 (tentatively 9:00 am - 6 pm). This workshop will give participants an introduction to the theory of large language models and a flavour of how they are used in biology and in genomics. The workshop is intended for participants with some basic experience with coding in Python and machine learning/statistics. Participants who attended last year’s workshop are requested not to register.
